Recently Cretan wines have travelled to America, and specifically New York so that we could display our products to the American markets.
The aim was to promote our local varieties and to differentiate the Cretan wines from any other producers and to promote the excellent work that has been achieved over the last 15 years on our island, and to hopefully build cooperation between ourselves and the American market.
On June 5th 2013 a Cretan wine tasting and walkabout was attended by journalists, restaurateurs, importers and exporters, and on the following day June 6th,they all attended a Cretan dinner, the response from both events was highly encouraging.
That has given the incentive to the Network of Winemakers (Wines of Crete) who were the organisers of the events to plan their next actions to promote Cretan wines into the American marketplace
