Crete has a rich wine tradition and history. One of the oldest wine presses in the world was discovered is Archanes Crete and dates  back to Minoan times.

Nowadays, Crete  produces about 20% of Greek wine. There is a new generation of wine producers, enologists, vinters, cultivators  etc. trying to improve the image of Cretan wine in all  aspects with knowledge, vision and willingness.

"Wines of Crete" is the official association of the cretan wineries.
